Once again, I apologize. I feel like I start most blog entries with that. Regardless, a lot has happened and things are going well.
I LOVE my internship, which is really nice, because most of what I'm doing is the same as the entry-level position for what I want to do long term. So, points toward a happy future. I am also getting more into applying for nearly everything that interests me at least a little.
The book is coming along, a little. I transcribed all the interviews and have begun reading them over, highlighting, making notes, and whatnot. So I'm at least that far. And a lot of people are really excited about it, which is helpful.
Spring break was lots of fun--last I posted I was in ATL with the younger sibs and daddy, but after that I went to Chicago with Kate and her friends to celebrate the death of "Anne." (She's dropping the middle name and moving our last name toward the center). Lots of alcohol, a few drag queens, and a ton of tapas. Perfect.
I went to D.C. this past weekend for the long-awaited Jon visit. It went really well, and I guess the technical term for what is happening is called "talking." Which is... fabulous, actually. I'm just kind of upset because my family(that's you, readers) are not that up on it.
Like, Kate's response was "I don't know, Chris, I just feel like...you deserve someone that would never NOT be interested." Which is really very sweet, and I appreciate that, and all that jazz, but then dad's response was, "don't do anything with anyone for the reason that you just don't want to be alone. Be with someone because you're ok with being alone, but would rather be with him." Again, very nice, but, you know, maybe you all should be excited? He's really a good guy and you're freaking me out.
Regardless, I did get to see Stephanie, my m-effing hero, which was so nice and just... I just really love her. A lot. And her response to Kate was, "i understand her point. As long as he knows he has already used his second chance. Which means if he fucks up, I'll kill him in his sleep." I guess that was more the response I was looking for?

I apologize to those of you that actually read this; once again, it's been far too long.
I'm home for Spring Break, and I leave for Atlanta to see dad and the younger sibs tomorrow. I'm exited, I feel like I don't see them enough. The drive is a little daunting (dad really does this twice a month?!) but aside from that I'm looking forward to it.
The job hunt. I have gotten rejected from all the book agents I contacted, as well as very nearly all the jobs for which I have applied. I feel like I'm just grasping at air. No one is hiring--what am I supposed to do? I'm just so frustrated. What does it even mean for me to have worked as hard as I did? I'm leaving college with a degree in English and Communication. I should have majored in something else. Or...I don't know. I don't know.
On another note, St. Patrick's Day was fabulous. I went out with some DDD Alumnae...we started at 4 and finished at 1am. I love holidays! I ran into a ton of people I knew, too, which is always a good time.
Also--Obama on Leno. I love my president.

I am quite stressed out. I feel really behind as far as the job search goes. Don't most people know what they're doing by now? Where do I even begin? I'm at such a loss and kind of a mess.
The book agents still haven't gotten back to me, which is an implied no in most cases, so I'm kind of in a place where I don't know what to do. I can certainly keep writing letters, and I probably will, but I don't know if I believe that it's going to happen. I don't know, maybe it's just been a stressful week and I'll feel better later.
In other news, tomorrow is the first "real" rehearsal for TVM, and I'm a little freaked out. We're required to have our monologues memorized (which I do, kind of.) and perform them in front of the cast. That always freaks me out a bit, the first time I do things in front of others. Well, and there's the fact that I'm totally unprepared.
And the exam tomorrow. And the exam Thursday. And the paper due Thursday. And the illness. And, sigh, I don't know. What a week. Thursday cannot come quickly enough.
I just need to go to bed, but I need to study, and I don't really feel like I can focus at the moment.

Athens was fabulous. Unfortunately, I don't know what to write about it. I felt something there that I'm trying to capture in words, but that's the hard part. I also kind of felt, you know, like an author. A little bit.
In other news, it is my 22nd birthday. And a snow day. This is a fabulous turn of events, and I think I'll take a celebratory nap. Then I get to wake up to my favorite in-house meal: POT ROAST. :D

Athens
I write from Athens (Ohio), and am getting increasingly more excited. I interviewed the Assistant Dean of the Honors Tutorial College Jan Hodson as well as the Mayor here. They both recommended this woman who used to be a member of the board at the Historical Museum here, so I called her and have an appointment for tomorrow! They both knew exactly where she lived, too, which was kind of weird and funny to me.
When I called her and briefly explained what I was doing, she gave me the history of the name of the town, and she goes, "But I don't know what else you want..." but I tried to explain that I want a somewhat substantial amount of time and have a ton of questions. So, appointment! Can't wait.
Anyway, off to party with Nicky and the Athenians. :D

So, I realize it's been a while since my last real update. I apologize.
I've been getting anxious about the job search thing. I joined LinkedIn, I did what I think I'm supposed to do, but I don't really know what it is that I want to do. That becomes sort of a problem when you're writing cover letters about what you want to do to companies for whom you are supposedly going to do it.
I am also getting excited and nervous about the book thing. I have interviews scheduled with the mayor of Athens as well as a woman who has lived there pretty much her entire life (except for about 3 years during law school). I don't know what to ask them, pretty much at all. I mean, I know what answers I want, or at least an idea of what I want to get out of those interviews, but I don't know where to begin on getting that.
The quarter is going pretty well, I have an amazing course with the one and only Professor McHale, and one pretty good one, and the other two are just okay. I can deal with that. Light workload at the very least(except for all the reading McHale assigned...but, so worth it).
Also, there's the Alex question. I don't even know where to begin on that, except to say that I think I'm done. I'm just not sure that the friendship adds any value to my life, and it may in fact be depleting value. Hard to say.

Book Writing
I'm getting too excited about my book project to be able to write very much; I've been doing a lot of research and mapping.
I've also been working quite a bit on the job search thing, which isn't nearly as much fun. Who needs a back-up? Psssht.
